Freight Planning FAQs

      What is a Sleeper Truck?

Sleeper trucks are similar to semi trucks, but they include a compact and efficient living space behind the driver's seat. This living space typically includes a cozy bed, efficient lighting, and many modern conveniences like a mini-fridge, microwave, a small dining space, and plenty of storage.

What is a CDL-A or CDL-B driver license?

Driving a commercial motor vehicle is a big responsibility. It requires special skills and knowledge. Most drivers must obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) through their home State (it is illegal to have a license from more than one State). In addition, special endorsements may be required if you or your company drivers will be driving any of the following vehicles:
•    a truck with double or triple trailers
•    a truck with a tank
•    a truck carrying hazardous materials.
•    a passenger vehicle

      What is a factoring company?

A factoring company specializes in invoice factoring, or purchasing outstanding invoices from businesses that have slow paying customers and are looking to boost cash flow. This allows a business to access cash flow immediately after issuing an invoice, instead of waiting 30-90 days for the customer to pay.

What percentage does a factoring company charge?

A factoring company usually charges between 2% and 5% of the invoice. When a carrier signs a yearly contract a Notice of Assignment is provided. You can not have more than one Factoring Company. Usually a portal is provided for you to monitor any revenue fluctuancy.

What percentage does a dispatcher or dispatching company charge?

A dispatch service usually charges between 3.5% and 5.5% of the invoice. In a few cases a portal is provided for you to monitor any revenue booked weekly.
